A Queen Among Tides

Almost had to admit myself to the infirmary which would have been a lovely addition to my day. Sea spirit is a type of seaweed also known as bladderwrack, and it is highly poisonous to sirna. For those of us who can morph, contact with it can stop us from morphing and it burns like a fucking bitch. If ingested or exposed to large amounts of it, it will kill you slowly and painfully. Learned that the hard way. I remember going for a swim with my parents as a child and being a kid, I did kid things. Another amazing book! I feel as though each book is my favorite in this series and I love the representation. This particular author has an amazing way of challenging vernacular and using it to empower her characters. Her world building has you vested in the outcome of the story and characters.

The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess

The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess

"I'll hold on to some porpoise or a dolphine, they will convey me whenever I'm tired. I have some friends in the sea bordering Pragoth, I'm sure I'll be warmly received." Theresa smiled then shrugged, "I'll truly appreciate that, Maris, but do me a favour by staying out of sight from the queen and the crew. The queen is cruel." "I'll take my chances, besides, not too many others believe mermaids actually exists," Maris simply replied then craned her neck with her gazed fixed past Theresa, "I don't hear your grouchy little friend anymore." Theresa glanced behind the rock and said with a smile, "It is fast asleep."

The Betrayed Wolf of the Moon Goddess

The Betrayed Wolf of the Moon Goddess

This is going to take longer than I thought. “Queen Asteria only kills men at sea. No women or children are harmed by her or her people, which is more than I can say for some shifter’s even some human’s. Her people only attack to preserve their way of life, their food source. Queen Asteria has already agreed to this treaty. All she asks is that her and her people are left alone. She rules the tides as long as she remains in the water and is not provoked. She will not be a problem. If that condition isn’t met then she will march her people on land and kill without mercy. Sirens in and out of the water are the ultimate predators. No-one will be safe.” I shudder at the thought of the siren quee

Summer Waves

Summer Waves

What kind of creatures are they? Sieghal knew that all the peoples of Shira believed that an entity always protected them whenever they went to sea to fish. With its blessing, the gods provided endless abundance and safety for the fishermen. However, no one knew what that entity was, so all of Shira believed they were sea guardian gods. But not Sieghal. While they believed it was god, Sieghal was convinced by what he saw as a child that it was not a god but a terrifying creature, massive and more dangerous than the most ferocious shark, always opening its mouth wide, ready to devour him at any time.

Journey To Become The Strongest god

Journey To Become The Strongest god

He smiled as he remembered what the mermaid had said to him before they entered the hall. "Please, let young master Xiao take us to the sea kingdom!" said the mermaid as she bowed halfway toward the fourth elder. "Princess, actually I do want to let the young master go, but the problem is that the sea kingdom is currently..." "I swear on my name and my tribe that as long as young master Xiao is with me, he will be fully protected and nothing will happen to him in the sea kingdom!" said the sea princess, raising her hand to swear on her own name. It was not without reason that she wanted Xiao Chen to go with her. She did not know what her mermaid tribe's sea eyes responded to in Xiao Chen. An

The Luna's Silence: Price of the Allied Throne

The Luna's Silence: Price of the Allied Throne

Water was spraying into the ship. The shadow-hand was. The Sea-Singer was free. She wrapped her arms around our ship and her power kept us from being crushed. The diving bell was gone and where it had been was just a swirling cloud of dirt and cooling magma. The silence that followed was heavy with the smell of salt and iron. The Sea-Singer rested her hand on the glass of our ship. Her face was beautiful and scary. Her hair was like a cloud of starlight. She looked at me. Her eyes were deep and intelligent.

A Luna's Vengeance

The coastal town of Saltmere clung to the cliffs like a barnacle, all weathered wood and salt-stained stone. Selene arrived during the changing of the tide, when the supernatural residents emerged from their dual existences selkies shedding seal skins on rocky shores, sea witches returning from underwater gardens, water fae coalescing from sea spray into solid form. Her coordination abilities thrummed with disorientation. The tide itself seemed to be the organizing principle here, not territory or hierarchy. Everything moved in rhythm with the ocean's breath in and out, in and out, constant flux instead of fixed boundaries.
