Isabella’s ex, still clutching the first piece of the seal, broke the silence. “Elara, how many more pieces are there?” Elara’s expression was grim. “Three more. Each one hidden in places just as dangerous as this. We’ll need to move quickly.

“No. This time, I lead.” He looked at her, truly looked, and nodded. Two nights later, Marisol stood on the balcony of the obsidian fortress that had once been her prison. Now it was her stronghold. The stars above shimmered unnaturally, as if the sky itself were growing thinner. Behind her, the door opened and shut. She didn’t have to turn to know it was Cassian. “They found the second seal,” he said quietly. Her breath caught. “Where?” He handed her the map. It was old—centuries, maybe millennia—but the markings were clear.

I heard a shocked gasp from the side. “My King." The voice whispered and then cleared it's throat. “If she was my mate and haven't been marked, could it still send her into heat. She seemed to repel every touch but mine Isolde.” He said, his voice strained and tight.
