I remember a new fantasy novel I bought from the city market not too long ago, maybe a few chapters is just what I need to calm my thoughts and quickly pass the time until Sue and Sean get back from the hospital. I make my way to the big wooden double doors of Sean's study. Sean never likes to be disturbed when he’s working in here. I walk in, the lights dimmed to their night-time setting. The smell of leather, cedar and a hint of cigar hangs in the air around me as I walk towards my book collection. I start running my sight along the rows of books and walk up to his solid oak desk, my eyes making their way along each books’ spine, looking for the newest addition somewhere on the shelf.

"You will help me find it." His tone was firm. He wasn't asking but ordering. But Sean, his brother, didn't want to take part in the search for the four books of Goratar. "I'm not taking part, that shit is just as dangerous as fighting with Dominus," Sean complained. He had less time here, his father would begin rummaging for him anytime soon. "Finding the exact location of something is one of your specialties, and I need it before Dominus gets his hand on it."

"Let's not waste time, Sean. Didn't you have something else to do?" Sean smiled at Marjien. "Ah! Máh. I still have two hostages in the dungeon. I have my hands dull right now," he glanced at Zillah, "with the Princes of Light." Zillah felt goosebumps all over her body as she struggled to keep her balance and not fall down to her knees. Her whole being began to crumble. "Princes of Light... my brothers..." Sean laughed. "Well, you didn't say that your brothers were part of the Five Leaf Clover using another name."

Star reached into her large handbag and pulled out the heavy leather-bound book. Dropping it on the table, she smirked in satisfaction when small particles of dust lifted from the surface, “This book contains every detail my father has collected on the Lockwood pack over the past ten years, it has everything from maps of the territory to patrol routines.” Stone’s greedy gaze fell on the book, but something in his gaze told her he wasn’t going to make it easy. “If your father had so much information on the pack, why did he never attack?” Stone’s eyes narrowed.

Given the thought and mixed emotions of Seema discovering my pregnancy had just made it worse. I didn't want her to know about the baby, and never. She may be my grandmother, but something about her feels off. That is what Effie felt about having a sixth sense, but she has been through a lot with her. It's not emotional to have this type of empathy. And Devin, something about him made the back of my neck hair go up. Whatever affected Liam that day on the cruise is affecting me too.

Letta tried to calm herself and think positively, hoping that her phone was in Sean's hands. Letta then decided to grab a few books to divert her now increasingly negative thoughts, ignoring the food she had only lightly touched. Letta hoped that Sean would return soon, at least with someone around, she could still feel a bit calm. However, reading a few books didn't seem to calm her down. Letta continued to remember the phone, and her movement stopped when she pulled out a thick book that turned out to be a photo album. Letta brought the photo album to the chair and smiled as she looked at the face of a beautiful little girl, who turned out to be Sean.

Sean asked and I was forced to agree. Sean shut and locked the door as I took a look around and scanned for a note. After the one we found on the back of the picture at the cabin, there hasn't been another and I wondered if the note guy had finally stopped since he saw that I was taking them seriously now. I shook my head and sat at my office as I started up the laptop and pulled out the first book. I worked for about thirty minutes while Sean pulled a book from my bookshelf and read as he relaxed on the couch. It was quiet and peaceful. Something that never lasts in a pack of werewolves, especially if you're an omega.

Rainey chuckled and asked, "So you can't keep it up?" Sean couldn't help but roll his eyes. He then replied, "What kind of books have you been reading? It's teaching you nonsense." Rainey laughed. "I'll never tell you. But I can help you with the thing you wanted to try the other day." She was visibly shy as she said that. Sean's face was red as he choked once more. Rainey chuckled. "I never thought you'd be shyer than me. Well, I'll stop joking with you now. I'll go back to my room."

Really, Jim, you should read more.” “He should read, full stop,” said Sean. “The bastard hasn’t touched a book in ages.” “I thought S was kinda bookworm.” Sean nodded and shrugged. “Maybe she can get him to read again.” Sean rolled his eyes. “Chances are he’ll make her quit reading.”
