I said quietly. My eyes moved toward the next section carved into the stone. “They ruled together.” Silence filled the chamber instantly. Because there it was. One figure standing between all three races. The hybrid figure towered over the others carved beneath it while symbols circled its body like chains. Long fangs. Wolf claws. Eyes glowing with carved fire. Female. Karin stepped beside me slowly. “That’s impossible.” My stomach tightened hard. Because I remembered the symbol on Zara’s hand the night she was born

"She's right. We end this at the source." I turned to the assembled group. "I need a strike team. Small, fast, lethal. We infiltrate Crimson Dawn's headquarters and shut down Vex's pain weapon." Marcus stepped forward immediately. "I'm in." Riley, still adjusting to her stable hybrid form, stood beside her father. "Me too." "Riley, no," Marcus protested. "I'm a hybrid now, Dad. I can sense Vex's connection through the network. You need me." Neon emerged from the shadows, and I barely recognized him. His time in the Fae realm had changed him. His skin had a faint shimmer, his movements were too fluid, and his eyes held depths that hadn't been there before.

In desperation, Night Wing had hugged Abbey into his embrace with his good arm coiled around her waist, holding her firmly close to him while he used the injured arm to swim up. They were not out of danger yet. One of the sharks came back, more aggressive than before. Night Wing knew that his strength was depleting soon and he wouldn’t be able to hold long. He pushed Abbey behind him and took the knives out from his belt as he took an offensive posture.
