I decided to take a break for 2 years and go back to Australia. As I went back, my mom and brother told me that Sebastian parents was killed by my own dad. Sebastian's parents was killed when he was 15. I don't know how my mom can get that information but that shocked me. I know from that point I can't be with him. There's no way I can be with him in this state. My dad killed his parents and how am I going to look at Sebastian?

My dad isn't my dad. Stephan and I are half siblings. This whole thing doesn't make any sense. My whole life has been a lie. How have they managed to keep it a secret? Is that why Matteos father is rarely around? He's always being sent on missions. Why didn't my dad kill him? I would've thought he'd kill him because he had sex with his wife and conceived a child. Ezekiel laughed— hard this time. “First of all, Step brother, and second of all what you said might be true, so tell me, if she was really his wife , why haven't he shown her to his father, I mean I already brought home my fiancé,why don't he do that? When mom mentioned that they were having a family dinner because Caleb was coming home, I felt conflicted. I didn’t want to disappoint my mom but I had no desire to be forced to sit in a room with Caleb Stallone and break bread. I still have not figured out why exactly I was so upset that he was engaged to Brianna. Maybe it was because I did not understand how someone so kind could love someone like her or perhaps it was the fact that she had gotten away with what she did years ago. She had gotten the boy and I lost my friend. She won. Deep down I knew that there was potentially another reason but I refused to give voice to it. We were step-siblings now.

Jordan replied in a voice that sounded off as the product of laughter and sadness all in the same place. "They've got a Child together." I heard her say next and I had to take a couple steps backwards to process all I had just heard. What in the world? Jordan's Dad and Shelton's Mom? Together? Have a child? He extended his hand toward me, and for a moment, I just stared at it, raising an eyebrow in disbelief. Seriously? The same guy who hated my very presence now wanted a handshake? Sebastian shrugged nonchalantly. “He…” I commenced, only to shut my lips and clear my throat. “He is not my distant cousin,” I revealed, and he didn’t even seem surprised. Not even fazed. It was as though he had expected the exact words to come tumbling down my lips as soon as he asked that question. It was almost unnerving. But, I'll give it another try. “My mom is married to his dad.” Which made us step-brothers. And still, my revelation didn’t seem to rock him. He just chewed on his straw while he waited for me to continue.

I had come to rely on her judgment for shit like this, and I was glad she approved so far. "To be honest with you, Jaxon, I didn't get along very well with my brother," Sebastian replied, which surprised the hell outta me. "In fact, I didn't like the guy, never did. We didn't have much in common, we weren't close, and his death, while unfortunate of course, is not such a tragedy to me."
