Every article says the same thing with different phrasing. Closed courthouse ceremony, absolute secrecy, no witnesses beyond the inner circle. Analysts speculate about alliances and territory, about debts erased and conflicts avoided with a single signature. “This wasn’t impulsive, it was planned!!” I say to myself The gym door opens behind me.

Aria stared at him. "The prenuptial agreement," she said slowly. "Not a prenup." He looked back at the message. "They're calling it a private arrangement. Negotiated before the wedding. Between Margaret and Richard's family lawyers." He paused. "And Raymond." The street was busy and loud around them and neither of them heard any of it. "She authorised its release," Aria said. "Why would she do that now?" Alex looked at the message one more time.

“Those accounts... they’re part of a settlement I’m negotiating. It’s complicated, but I swear it has nothing to do with the foundation.” Sophie narrowed her eyes. “Then why hide it? Why the secrecy?” Richard’s gaze dropped to the table. “Because I’m being blackmailed,” he admitted quietly. “Someone found out about the merger and my involvement. They’re threatening to expose old, damaging secrets unless I pay up.” Sophie exchanged a stunned look with James and Alex. This revelation was unexpected, throwing them into deeper uncertainty. If Richard was telling the truth, they were all entangled in a dangerous web.

Given the fact that she didn't trust the man as far as she could throw him, she'd gone through it line by line, but if she was expecting anything suspicious, she didn't find it. The contract had been pretty basic. Marry me and keep my secrets. He'd given her access to a part of his funds in case she needed it, a new bank account and even offered a payment if they both agreed to break the arrangement without breaking a term of the contract. If his secret eventually got out, she was going to be in trouble though. She'd signed the document even though it had looked too good to be true.

But I didn’t have time to catch my breath. Kael returned not even a minute later, his steps quick as he caught up to me. He stopped right in front of me, searching my face. “What was that about?” he demanded. “What’s this agreement between you two?” I paused for a second, then forced a small smile. It wasn’t genuine, but it was all I could manage. “It’s a secret,” I said softly. “You’ll know once everything is over.” His expression darkened with frustration. I could see the questions swirling in his eyes.

“From now on, for five days, you’ll do whatever I say. No questions. No complaints. Understood?” I nodded again, his voice sounding like the devil pronouncing his verdict. I knew I would regret this in the coming future. But I really didn't care anymore. I was tired of caring. I left Amanda’s house in a daze, my mind reeling. Andrian had made me swear to secrecy, forbidding me to tell anyone about our arrangement. When I finally reached home, the emptiness of the house felt heavier than usual. Lying on my bed, I clutched the fat envelope of cash from Amanda.

“I’ve noticed. He kind of likes to annoy you.” “Oh, it’s his life mission.” Mrs. Fisher cleared her throat from the front. “Alright, who can tell me the first step?” Dead silence. I looked at my desk. Eye contact meant certain death and I wasn't prepared for that. Ella leaned closer, whispering, “I don’t get why letters get to hang out with numbers. It just feels wrong.” I smirked. “They call it algebra. I call it identity theft.” Her laugh escaped before she could stop it, and Mrs. Fisher’s gaze snapped to us. “Is something funny?”

Leo staggered back at Rachel’s strong response and fierce defence for his company ! No one had done that in years ! However, before she went out of the door, Rachel said over her shoulder, only meant for Leo’s ears. “I wish you luck for our cooperation, Mr. Emerson,” she professionally said, making the lover in Leo flinch at her cold tone. “I hope that we will not mix business with personal affairs especially when it comes to secret fiancées and marriages. Oliver and my team are at your disposal if you want to communicate anything with us,” she added and closed all channels of communication with him.

I muttered. The moment the door closed behind her, I grabbed a pillow from my bed and threw it at Damon. Hard. "How could you be so irresponsible?" I hissed. He caught the pillow easily, like this was some kind of game to him. "Why are you so hell-bent on keeping our relationship a secret? We're both adults. We're not doing anything wrong." "It's not a relationship," I shot back. "It's an arrangement. A temporary arrangement. And it's my decision to keep it secret. If you expose it, especially to Ella, I will never forgive you.
