Caelan had kept the archive key in the inner pocket of his coat for three years. It was smaller than the damage it guarded. He turned it in the lock beneath the Tribunal archive while the failure of Garrick’s command still moved through the corridors outside. The private records of the Court of Pretenders waited behind the iron door: succession pledges, sealed instructions, payment routes, and orders no public clerk had been permitted to index. Caelan had once treated that secrecy as proof that he belonged among people who made decisions before anyone else could question them.

Names that appeared for six months, then vanished into a clerk’s shrug. Sean’s pencil was an instrument, not a fidget. He circled dates, drew arrows between initials that repeated across departments. “This one—H.K.—signs off on ammo requisitions and rail clearances. H. Koerner? Kappel? Doesn’t matter yet.” “Geheimhaltungsstufe,” Silvia murmured, tapping a stamp. “Secrecy level. Tier three. You didn’t get that for experimental boots.” Terry mimed a rifle. “Long grey thing—pew pew—”

My chest constricted at what I saw. Dozens of entries, including names of informants paid in secret, supply shortages redirected for personal use, and allocations moved to fictitious locations, were hidden among the neat handwriting. A few of the entries were from years ago.receipts. seals. signatures. Unquestionably, all of it. "Everything changes because of this," I muttered. Lira gave one nod. She said in a low voice, "I'm not as brave as Halric." "But perhaps this will be useful."

“Then assure me we’ll stand up for this.” “I assure you.” Someone knocked on the door. We became motionless. Leena sat upright, enclosing herself in the sheets. I slipped on sweatpants and a t-shirt, raking a hand through my hair as I approached the door. It was Zach. The expression on his face indicated that it was bad news. “What occurred?” I questioned, moving into the corridor and shutting the door after me. He extended his phone. “Confidential documents were disclosed—Grayson’s future initiatives, partnerships, all of it.” Incorporating the agreement made in Moscow.”

“Yes, because it is tone-deaf to announce it, not because our relationship is some sort of crime.” My stomach began to turn itself into knots. Something was wrong. No, something was VERY wrong. “Just… please. Don’t tell the council about us yet.” “Danny, what’s going on?” When Danny didn’t say anything right away, I looked over at Kade, but he just shrugged his shoulders. “Jenna, baby, I know we agreed not to keep secrets from each other, but this one… it… it is… it is work related. Please don’t make me tell you. Just trust me on this.”

Vince asks as Lester gives him a cheeky grin. “Something my assistant is going to help me with” Lester smiles. “This is top secret; you can’t even tell Tiffany what we are about to do” he adds, opening the envelope and pulling out the piece of paper inside to reveal its contents. Vince’s eyes grow wide when he reads what was on the paper. “What do you need me to do?” he asks, smiling he gets to help Lester with revealing the sex of the baby.

His voice made Chester look away from Bella to Alexander. He noticed how she heaved a sigh of relief. "Sure Ale- I mean Mr. Kingston" older Casso said. Isabella started to give the presentation. She's describing their business strategy, benefits and the profits both the company will gain in the future by conducting the contract. "So with that we can be more profitable" she ended her presentation. "I must say your new secretary is much smarter than the previous one. I like her presentation. We agree to make a deal with you but-" Zacarias Casso was cut by a voice

He said to her and her heart missed a beat at the thought. “I can only do the little I can, so whatever secret you know you have, …” He said. “I don’t have any secrets.” She snapped at him and he could say no more.

Downward it spiraled, into the cold steel of a vault designed not to store wealth—but truth. At the final door, twin palm scanners blinked red. Elias placed his hand first. Then Freda. The lock clicked. The vault opened. Inside: rows of servers, blackbooks, recordings, data. All the secrets of the Harrington dynasty—deals with foreign governments, off-book weapons programs, generational blackmail, and a ledger titled Project Aegis. The final truth. Grace’s voice buzzed through the com-link. “The failsafe is encoded into the central console. You need to input the legacy key—Jonathan’s voice ID—to disarm it.”

"I had friends watching him closely. He won't get off that easily." Only then did I unlock my phone. My friends' feeds were full of people talking about the scandal, paired with the photos the reporters had taken when Calvin was being led away. The captions were all kinds of weird. [I know this Leeroy guy. I heard he was cheating during his marriage–some scheme about using a mistress to have a child. What a playboy.] [This pixelation is pointless; anyone can tell who that is. He dresses like some gaudy butterfly.]
