Everyone silently echoed Sigmund’s prayer while Estelle stood still. For her, the night felt like walking between two worlds: one filled with light and the other dim within herself. She looked at the sky one last time. The golden ring around the moon pulsed faintly, like the heartbeat of a giant holding a secret. Estelle exhaled deeply, as if trying to release the unease lodged in her chest. Then, she gave a faint smile.

It made her want to roll her eyes—but also warmed her heart. “You don’t need to shield me from tree branches,” she whispered. He didn’t turn back. “I’ll shield you from the entire world if necessary.” She lightly nudged his shoulder. “And I’ll guard you right back.” His lips curled into a faint smile. “I know.” The forest suddenly opened up, revealing the ancient Moon Temple—now illuminated by a strange, flickering light. Cracks snaked along its stone walls, glowing softly like veins filled with molten silver. The air buzzed. The ground thrummed underfoot.

The light pulsed in time with my heart, spreading through my veins like liquid moonlight. "It’s silver," Richard whispered. He reached out to touch it, then drew his hand back as if burned. "Joshua, the mark is silver." I looked up. The skylight above the hall was usually dark by this hour. The sky had turned white. A blinding, iridescent sheet of ivory light covered the stars. There were no clouds. No moon. Just the sky, burning. "The Lunar Heiress," an old woman in the back row screamed. She fell to her knees, her forehead hitting the stone. "The prophecy! The True Heir has been marked!"

She gazed into the water while chanting loudly. “Moonlight, reveal to me secrets hidden, and truths to see. By the power of the moon’s pale glow, lift the veil, let truth flow. And with one breath… I pulled them into the realm. In the Secret Domain there was moonlight, brighter than any moon in our world, and it washed over the shimmering landscape.

Above, the sky darkened further, the blood moon appearing suddenly, impossibly large and close, its crimson light bathing everything in shades of rust and wine.

Eroticism on every page!’ with a sigh. “Well… If this is what it takes to set the right mood for my encounter with Great Scott…” But a slight movement from out the large picture window caught her eye. Starlight froze, a prick of fear running down her spine. A man stood on her front porch railing…
