Ava pov
The first sound Ava heard was her own breath, fragile and uneven, like a child learning to inhale for the first time. Every part of her body felt foreign her fingers trembling, her skin burning, her heartbeat echoing in a rhythm she didn’t recognize. When she opened her eyes, the world was dim, washed in shades of grey and ash. She could feel the cold biting into her bones, but under it was something else: a low vibration, a hum buried deep in the air, too faint for the ear but clear in her blood.
