I try to stop myself, but I can’t. “It’s not funny,” he grumbles. “It’s been like this since the moment you arrived.” I giggle again. “It’s kind of funny.” I look up at him, the smile still on my face. He sucks in air and his eyes darken quickly. The smile drops away and I frown. “What?” “That’s the first time you’ve smiled at me,” he says softly. “I understand why the pack is so enamored with you.” “Oh? Why is that?”

I don’t say anything, and he turns to look at her, smiling as he replies, “No, I can’t, princess.” My heart thuds from the sudden smile on his face, and I nearly want to grab my chest, which suddenly rises to stop playing games. It’s the first time for me to see him smile like that. He has never smiled like that to anyone since I knew him, but for some reason, that he gives such rare smiles effortlessly makes me envious. Not to mention, he looks even more good-looking when he smiles.

I couldn’t hold back the laughter that erupted from my chest. Her jaw dropped, her mouth ajar and her eyes bulged. “What?” “This was the first time I ever saw you laughing,” she pointed out, “the very first fucking time, now I understand why you don’t smile often, please don’t ever if you do every fucking would fall for you. With that laughter someone would actually leave me and flirt with you,” all her words were rushed and fast. It was nice seeing her this free spirited and jovial. She stood up abruptly and walked to me. She sent forth her hand and I stared at it skeptically.

I choked on my drink knowing the meaning of what he had just said and I blushed furiously. He chuckled at my reaction and I looked up at his face to see a small smile creep upon his lips. My heart jumped at the sight. This was the very first time, Lycus had just smiled at me.

I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding, relief flooding through me. I turn back to face him, seeing a small smile on his lips. I smile back and say the first thing that comes to mind, “You look like shit.”

I hate that stupid grin. "Cause it's the first time you called me by my first name." He said, placing a big smile across his face as he faced forward. It's true it was my first time saying his first name out loud in years. I would always say his first name in my mind but never through my lips. I admit it felt good saying it but I'm too embarrassed to say it.

I asked, uncertain if I had right. He didn’t repeat himself. He just looked at me and for the first time since I had known him… he didn’t look like the cheesy guy who always had an annoying smirk on him. He looked dead serious.
