he said with an excited grin. She studied him for a moment. He looked like an excited schoolboy. Her heart swelled with love at the sight of his sparkling blue eyes and enormous grin. She remembered the first time she’d set eyes on him when she was just a girl. He had the same sparkle in his eyes and the same exuberant grin as he’d playfully tussled her hair. She loved him then, and she loved him still. “Why the hell not?” she said with a broad smile.

"It's not what you're thinking. It's just that I've never really seen you smile before." I frowned. "I smiled plenty of times before." Sure, I don't smile as much as the average person—especially compared to Daisy. But there were times that I smiled. I'm not as numb as people make me out to be. "Yeah," he nodded his head. "But that was the first time that you smiled because of me." I froze in my seat, and I looked at him dumbfounded. "Well, you've never given me a good reason to smile."

She looked happy as if she had a great time with Polly and it was the first time I saw her smile. But I swear my heart skipped a beat out of ordinary when I saw her smiling in her own world.

I said then held his hand in mine. He smiled for the very first time, I couldn't help but smile back.

Like someone who never smiles.” I didn’t know how to react to that, so I just listened quietly. “But tonight,” he added, his eyes staying on mine, “I noticed something. You actually have a lovely smile. You should do it more often.” My chest tightened a little. I suddenly didn’t know where to look.

Ethan said before smiling sweetly at me. Those were the first words that he said to me. That smile transformed his whole face and the air around him.
