He had been reading it for a few weeks but he can't understand a thing. 'How is it that it's too hard to win a girl.' He remembered when he inched his face closer to her face. He smelled the sweet fragrance on her body, like the smell of mint apple.

Blake’s Pov Em is sleeping for three hours straight now. The wind has picked up and a massive storm is brewing. I kept checking if she was okay and that the swelling didn’t get worse. She refuses to go to a hospital, and for god knows why she’s a nurse and most of the people at the ED know what happened in her past, okay I think only Linda does, and I know her worse fear is being weak, but sometimes being weak is not a bad thing, well in my eyes. The hardcover seemed to be made of animal skin. The smell was like an old rotten dead rat. I was expecting suggestions, but everyone’s mouth was shut this time. “Really?” My eyes narrowed at them. “Now I need your unsolicited advice and you’ve got nothing. You, Theia. “You really think this is just about sex?” She barked out a bitter laugh. “Isn’t it?” Liam shifted closer, his thigh pressing against hers. “Sex is the easy part. That’s not easy. That’s real.” Her chest tightened. She hated how his words crawled under her skin, deeper than she wanted them to. “You don’t know me.”

Then my foot caught the edge of a raised paving stone and I stumbled, catching myself before I actually fell but twisting my ankle enough to make me stop and hiss out loud. "Okay," I said to nobody, pressing my hand to the wall beside me, "Okay, we are done, the universe has made its point, I get it." I stood still for a moment letting the sting pass and my eyes drifted across the street to the bookstore I sometimes walked past on the way home.

His hands were shoved deep in his pockets, his posture casual, but his gaze flicked to me often, like he was drinking in every detail.
