Seraphina turned toward the looming figure, her heart thundering. “No. Not this time.”
Lucan moved to stand in front of her, but Seraphina pulled him back. “Together.”
The Sleepless One descended, its form flickering like a broken memory. Its voice tore through the space like ice. “You keep rewriting the ending. But it always ends the same.”
