"I know, but Damon…" My mother had suddenly appeared at the door, attracted by the brewing noise; her eyes had grown wide as she spotted Damon and Cassandra half-naked. "What is the meaning of this, Damon? Annie, why are you sobbing?" Cassandra seized the opportunity. She pointed at the pizza I mistakenly spilled on the floor. "Look, Mrs. Scarlett! Serena. I stood up slowly, brushing the marble dust from my worn trousers. My hands stayed in my pockets, my right thumb pinning the data-shard against my palm. When I finally turned, Serena was standing at the entrance of the memorial, her shimmering gown of pixelated silk flowing in a breeze that didn't exist. Her silver hair caught the moonlight, but as she stepped closer, the edges of her silhouette blurred, flickering with a faint, jagged distortion. The Savior status was struggling to render tonight.

“Prepare the paperwork first thing tomorrow morning and deliver it personally to my office.” She nodded once before asking casually, “Should I have Aisha prepare the papers?” I narrowed my eyes at her instantly. A smug look flashed briefly across Serena’s face. “You know very well she knows nothing about this operation.” “I know,” Serena replied smoothly. “I’ll prepare them myself and deliver them tomorrow morning.” “Good.” She turned and walked out. My phone buzzed against the desk. I picked it up and saw a message from Yvonne. I frowned immediately.

I moved here, I didn't settle in, I just needed a place to exist, a place far from them. Danielle and Xavier are in Italy, no idea what they are doing, but heard they were making some changes to their company. Fiona and Caden are in Los Angeles, this is the first time since their wedding they woudn't be in Italy. She nods, but stays for a moment longer. Serena is a short, slim woman, with tight blonde curls that fall just past her shoulders. She has sharp features, a small pointed nose, large almond-shaped eyes, that had been bright blue and glowing gently in the video from her camera feed, and full lips that are parted slightly in sleep.

Age had only made her look even better. Yvonne's attention had been so fixed on the woman that she didn't even realize Ariel was standing next to her. In the blink of an eye, Yvonne was led to stand next to the woman. Regina and the woman greeted each other affectionately before Regina introduced Yvonne to her. "Carmen, this is Yvonne Miller, president of Miller Jewels. Yvonne, she's the one who proposed the foundation project, which I mentioned to you over the phone."
