“This, sister, is the kingdom of Etherios. You and I are the daughters of the fallen King Samael. Your child is to inherit the throne.” Mitzie stood from her seat, eyes and mouth wide open, trying to take in all that she was seeing. It looked something like a cross between a vast Roman Empire, and a Medieval Kingdom. She didn’t know how that was possible when they were two vastly different looks, but somehow, they worked well together here. There were no other persons around, but she somehow knew there were others that were there. "I really don’t understand. I mean, I love to dream…or excuse me, would love to believe this, but I really don’t know how any of this is possible,” Mitzie said in

Megan gave a quick answer. “We’re playing King’s Game.” Summer stretched out her hand. “Deal me in. I want to play too.” “Sure,” Megan said with a smile. “Everyone, this is Summer York. We met while studying abroad. She’s a friend of mine.” Since a new player had joined, everyone reshuffled and drew fresh cards. The next round began. This time, Tyler drew the King card. He glanced around the room and said, “Spade Three—pick someone of the opposite sex and confess your love.”

Jaden Lind then countered Christopher’s card with ‘All four Jacks’. “Shameless! My, Valrick Delaney’s granddaughter is not lacking in any way! I can give her even the biggest diamond or anything at all! Do you take me for a fool Jaden?!” Valrick fished out ‘All four of the Queens’ from his deck and was about to take the chips when Haniel Kings then dropped all four of the Kings and took the chips away. “My grandson is a righteous man, he will for sure, win that young lass, no one can say no to the Kings,” he stated before smiling at them as if telling them that they had no way to retaliate nor fight him.

As they left I walked closer to the dining table, a little more relaxed because no one was here. A game where they did more talking than playing, where the order wasn't continuous. It was something I had never seen or heard of before. I checked through the cards that had already been played on the field with confusion. There was no correlation between them. I then looked at the cards that were left behind, which were supposed to be in their hands. These cards did correlate, all of them were royalty and the heart suit. Dominic was the Queen, the guy whose shadow looked like Xavier's was the King, Jake was the Ace and the other dude was the Jack. "What the actual fuck," I thought out loud,

my dad began, we all responded, “I called this meeting because the Shadow clan will be crowning a new mafia king in Columbia. I will need Romario to go there so that you can get alliance with them. While Leonardo, you will be running the operations here till Nathaniel returns” My eyes widened in annoyance as I glared at all of them, as usual I am sidelined and Romario is always chosen to do the good work. “Why Romario and not me?” I inquired, Jose rolled his eyes dramatically at my question. “Because you're hot headed, temperamental and bratty” Jose proclaimed.

I blurted out, waving my hands in the air, "No, I have an answer." He cocked his brows even higher, gesturing for me to continue. I closed my eyes, exhaling a heavy breath. When I opened them back, I caught him staring at me expectantly. I chuckled nervously, "Sorry, I'll get on with it." "Go on." I nodded, and cleared my throat, "These two cards represent the two kingdoms. This one, for Calder's" I picked up the club, "This one, for Kaden." I showed him the two cards, and then placed them face-up on the desk,

Heaving a sigh, I turn around again and stare at the sky. “Is the queen of Solar looking for the amulet?” I asked again. “Yes, it’s confirmed. It seems a lot of the clans are allies with her,” Charles explained. “Very well, she wants to take my throne. Let’s see how capable she can be,” I said through gritted teeth. I’m Nikolas, King of the Kingdom of Ciar. A ruthless king, hated by most. I’m 148 years old, and I have been mateless. My family? They all died long ago.

I watched them closely, not risking even the slightest movement. Matteo scratched the corner of his mouth, something he always did when he had a strong hand. The one with a scar on his eyebrow tapped the table twice when he was bluffing a capture. The quiet one on the left breathed through his nose, something he also did when he was screwed. First two rounds, I lost to them. But not again, even if it meant having a tie. The table now has a seven of cups, a three of swords, a king, and the ace of coins — the most valuable card in the deck.
