I stood beside Warren, watching the smoke drift into the gray sky. “Three attacks in two days,” I said softly. “He will not stop.” “No,” Warren said. “But neither will we.” For a moment, we just stood there. The world smelled of ash and blood, yet beneath it, there was something else. Resolve. I looked at the bodies being covered with sheets, the flames dying down to embers. “How many?” “Seven dead,” he said. “Four more badly injured. Fewer than we should have lost.” I closed my eyes. “That is still seven too many.”

A final obsession she couldn’t let go of before she died. But to me? It was nothing but a contract that should’ve ended a long time ago. And now, the seven years were up. Looking around, I realized— there was nothing here worth staying for anymore.

The one that had fooled me for four years. “Seventy days. That’s how long you have. Then I activate everyone. Then I release an army you can’t stop. Can’t defeat. Can’t survive. And this time?” She leaned closer to the camera. “I’m not giving you a chance to surrender. I’m not offering deals. I’m just going to win. See you at the end of the world, bestie.” The video was deleted. The phone went dead. Fried. Unusable. And I realized with horrible clarity. We hadn’t won. We’d barely survived. The real battle hadn’t even started yet.

The air turned to glass, vibrating, about to shatter. The medical monitors shrieked. "I did this?" Soren let out a harsh laugh. "She's the one who betrayed me! She trampled on our bond at the sacred altar!" "That was seven years ago!" "Seven years?" Soren's eyes glowed a dangerous gold. "Do you have any idea what seven years of that pain is like? Do you understand that torment?" Julian took a step forward, his own silver-grey eyes blazing. "Of course I do! Because I love her, too!"

This time, I did not cry as I stared at Brody’s face. All I felt was uncontrollable hate. How dare he? He had worked together with Rose and deceived me for two whole years! Whenever I cried because of his betrayal every seven days, was he pleased with himself? He plugged in the pen drive for me with great care. However, I did not move even after a long time had passed. It was clear now—I was nothing more than an outsider in this house. Raven’s point of view. I was tied up in a dark room, with my hands and legs tried, and a gag put in my mouth. I scanned the room and saw four other girls like me, with our body covered with thin, transparent fabric. I gritted my teeth as I thought of how to free myself from the alpha of Blood Moon’s pack, but just then I heard footsteps approaching the room. “We must do as he says, if we ever want to end this war and get back our soldiers that he is holding captive.” A voice said.

One week! It has been seven good days since the news about my plea for justice broke out. Seven days since I became the talk of the nation, and seven days since the country declared war against all aspects of inhumanities. My speech has touched millions of souls in the country. It's not just the government that is fighting this, but the citizens too. I am happy. I am beyond overwhelmed!

Because it was freezing outside, Doctor Alex invited Trish and Kaven to come inside and kindly asked them to sit down. “I can’t say it’s alright. There’s a grave danger that will endanger the kingdom in the next 24 days,” Trish said. “What do you mean?” Doctor Alex said “Yesterday, Aiden came and declared war openly in twenty-five days. Minus today, the remaining time we have to prepare ourselves is only 24 days,” Trish answered. When Doctor Alex heard about that, he was shocked. “Wh-what? Aiden? War?” His face turned pale. He was once a doctor who went to the battlefield during King Liam’s reign. The war at that time was the second biggest war ever since the Kingdom of Panthera was formed.
