Shadow Empress Crown Novels & Stories

she raises an eyebrow, confirming my suspicions silently as I think of the calling tune the crown had sung. “Ha,” I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear, feeling my face grow red, “-you could say that.” “It doesn’t surprise me,” Cassandra chuckles, “-It was made by a Marsilla so it’s riddled with pure magic. No wonder your presence sparked the remaining slithers of power hidden inside of it. I’m rather disappointed now. I’m afraid you beat me to what I was hoping would be a rather big surprise. That crown is the very one Emmeline wore. It was recovered after the Blue Moon Castle was destroyed. Technically, it belongs to you. My intention was to take you down after this meeting and present you

Along the interior rim, a molten vein of alchemical glass - a deep ember-red - runs like a breathing heartbeat. Five asymmetrically placed black obsidian shards jut skyward, each carved into a razor’s edge, catching the light like falling stars. Threaded between the obsidian, pale moonstones glow with inner fire. Tiny silver filaments trace lunar phases around each gem. Across the front arch, grandfather inscribed a spiral of war-runes in obsidian ink. Flanking each temple are low-relief engravings of a phoenix’s upraised wing, rendered in platinum flash, mirroring Emberlance’s imagery. The crown’s underside is padded with midnight-blue silk from the Veiled Looms of Varistith. Finally, a hid

The king was several hundred years older than Shadow but it didn’t stop the king from approaching her because he was admiring Shadow’s brain. He waited patiently to have Shadow in his hand, later all his hard work was in vain because the crown prince from the wingsman clan snatched her up. It didn’t mean he would give up, though. People like Shadow deserved to fight over it. She was perfect to be his companion and the empress of the new empire that he would create soon. By sheer luck, he also came across this attribute. It meant only one thing. “That pretty fucker. She is quick to the uptake,” he snorted because he was greatly bemused. “We have guests, guys.” He shot up.

The obsidian was warm, alive under my palm. “Remember,” the old wolf said, his voice fading into the dark. “The crown is not the price. The blood is.” I reached for the crown with both hands, the silver burning against my fingertips. --- Above the ridge, the figure crouched low, their eyes glued to the fissure. They saw the faint silver glow pulse through the cracks in the stone, saw the mountain tremble. The shadow had been waiting years for this moment. They stood slowly, their hand brushing a small smooth black stone nestled in their palm. They took a step forward, their boots silent on the dead grass. The time had come. The Queen was giving up her crown. And the shadow was ready to take

Inside the lined interior of the chest lies no gold, no jewels, and no legal papers. Resting on a bed of stained velvet sits a heavy, dark iron crown embedded with seven glowing crimson rubies—the legendary Crown of the First Moon Queen—and resting directly beside it lies a freshly severed, bloody human hand wearing Lucas's personal Alpha signet ring on its broken index finger. Elder Thomas looks up at me through his tears, his voice trembling with finality.

“—will be for nothing.” Her heart ached at the truth of it. From behind, Isolde Mirean approached, her healer’s robes darkened with soot. She carried not herbs or poultices this time, but the circlet of her mother’s crown, retrieved from the ashes of the throne room. The silver glimmered faintly, a crescent moon etched into its center. “Serenya,” Isolde said softly, offering the crown. “This belongs to you. Always has.”

There was a memory within, older than her name and buried deeper than any dream. Emery stood in the middle of a magnificent hall composed of fire and obsidian. Her eyes were blazing with purpose—and something darker—and she wore a crown that bled light. In front of her, two figures knelt. The Nobleman. Lips sealed in adoration, lips composed and proud. The Man in the Mask. Even then, rebellious, bruised, and silent. However, the world wasn't broken by them. She was. "I made a decision," Emery whispered. "Did I not?"

Representatives from every major house, minor lordships, merchant guilds, and artisan collectives had gathered to witness what many suspected would be the most significant coronation in living memory. At the ceremony's heart stood a dais carved from single piece of midnight-black stone that seemed to absorb light rather than reflect it. Upon its surface rested a crown that defied every convention of royal regalia—not gold or silver, but crystallized shadow that held depth and complexity like captured starlight given form. The crown seemed to pulse with subtle energy that made the air around it shimmer with barely contained power.

This was a new feeling and she wasn't ready for this right now. Mira saw the crowns coming her way. She had never seen anything like this before, but this crown was so grand, a large black diamond crown it was, and right in the middle was an emerald, some even in each corner. Only one very large emerald stone in the middle. It was the most beautiful things she had set eyes on. Sirie walked up to Mira, the crown in her hand. Mira immediately bent down. This time her hand fisted into a ball. This was it, Mira thought to herself, as she stared at the ground. Mira’s breath heavy on her chest.

"The crown of the true Moon Queen." "Your Majesty—" "The crown that will unite the kingdoms." "Your Majesty—" "The crown that will destroy the darkness." Kael stepped forward, her sharp eyes blazing with defiance. "Then let's see it." I walked to the pedestal at the center of the throne room. The crown sat upon it—a circlet of silver and moonstone, woven with ancient magic and the light of the moon. It pulsed with a soft, steady glow, as though it was alive. I could feel its power calling to me, a warmth that spread through my veins. The light was almost hypnotic, drawing me closer with each step.
