My smile dropped at the woman who stood frozen with her eyes wide in shock, she was staring at nothing in particular with a mixture of sadness, fear, confusion but most prominently anger in her grey eyes. Her expression caused everyone’s smiles to drop; I took a step closer to her and placed my hands on her shoulders. I looked into her wide eyes and felt Shadow stir restlessly. ‘What is the Shadow? Shadow’s agitation was affecting me. ‘Mate!’ I was taken aback by her reaction; ‘Shadow, this is Tatiana not D-’ I cut myself off and swung around to look at Devin. I looked into his confused eyes and was met with grey eyes strikingly identical to those I stared into just seconds ago.

Vic started. “We’ve checked their home, there is no scent of them anywhere, at all.” Mimi continued. “It’s like…they never existed. The device’s pulse resonated with the final node, sending shockwaves through the building and the city itself. Emma felt a surge of power, a connection to the network of shadows. She could feel their movements, anticipate them, bend them—not completely, but enough to fight back. The final figure lunged, desperate, trying to regain control. Emma focused, channeling the pulse, and the shadows surged against the mastermind. A scream of distorted metal and static filled the room, then silence. The monitors went dark. The shadows outside dissipated, melting into mist that vanished into the storm clouds.

Aria says. "I wouldn't do it if I thought it was putting you guys in danger. Don't worry about it." I say. Suddenly we felt the building shudder. Like there was an earthquake or something. So we all got up but it was a quick shudder. Not like an earthquake. But then it happened a second time. We all ran out to the courtyard and Angelo ran out behind us.
