Blake's men were about to follow the attacker or even take him down when Shadow stopped them. "It's my spy," Shadow declared, walking to the wall. Pulling the arrow out in one go, she looked at her master. "They sent some urgent news." She recognised the arrow by its unique structure and colour. It was a jet-black metallic arrow with a round bulging structure at the proximal part of the shaft. There was a small button, which was hardly visible, just below the bulge. She pressed the button and a small door on the bulge opened before a small rolled letter fell on her palm.

"But we got it done. Let's get back." Back at the base, the team regrouped, their faces etched with exhaustion but determination unbroken. Finn stood at the command table, his device projecting a map of the Wastes. Several of the clusters had been neutralized, but a new, larger signal had appeared. "The Shadow's consolidating its power," Finn said, his voice heavy. "This new signal… it's massive. Whatever's there, it's the next big fight." Ruby's gaze hardened. "Then we hit it before it gets any stronger."
