This time, the person who answered seemed to be a celebrity. She accused Shane of getting her number from the media and made other bizarre accusations. He immediately disconnected the call because he was sure Miss Purple could not be an artist. If she were, she would not hide behind her mask but show everyone how hot she looks at rare moments like a masquerade party. Yes, Shane was sure she wasn't.

She looked up at him with countless emotions in her eyes. Shane shrugged and looked away from her. He was suddenly too shy to withstand the look she gave him. “I know I will not take credit for the painting but as it was gifted to me by my father, it has automatically become mine. I drew the flower, wanting to give it you when you become older, say fifteen or thereabout. However, I never expected the next day to be the last day I will see you, until yesterday,” he sighed. “You can keep it now, it was intentionally left for you so...” He shrugged once more, what is wrong with me?

They nodded in agreement as they watched Sheinna return to her seat. Rai’s lip twitched as he stared at Sheinna. He didn’t expect that Sheinna would actually be related to Shane Fornite. Who is Shane Fornite? If Raiver played almost half of the female students’ hearts when they were in middle school… then Shane Fornite played the hearts of the other half of the female students’ population. That is why his and Shane’s reputations are very bad.

I hate that I did this to them. But Shane? He isn’t innocent either. He doesn’t think I know about his little obsession with OnlyFans. The late night scrolling, the messages, the way he’s been talking to this plus sized woman like she’s the only thing that excites him anymore. She’s pretty, I’ll admit well proportioned, with a small waist but thick hips and an ass to match. And maybe that wouldn’t sting so much if she didn’t look eerily similar to Madison, Sade’s sister.

It didn’t make any sense. “Because I’m the artist,” Shane said with a shrug. He said it as if he were talking about the weather or the lint on the floor. I have to stop myself from reeling back at the news as my suspicions are confirmed. I know what he just said but I still can’t believe it. Shane was not only a painter but painted this image back when he was harassing me Thinking back to the boy I remembered, I couldn’t remember a time when I would have thought there could be anymore when it came to him.

Truth be told, I don’t want to go inside. I’m tired, exhausted, with my feet throbbing from moving around all afternoon and evening. The slushie place was fun—and they had amazing pizza, as Shane said, but then we went to a studio owned by one of Marcus’s friends, where I found out that he was an upcoming artist. He didn’t sound half-bad, but by the tenth retake, my ears were already bleeding. And now, this. I tuck my lips together, muffling a yawn. Shane turns, his brows furrowing in worry. “Hey…” he murmurs. “You okay? We can call it a night if you want.”

He staggered, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, but he looked back at me, unbroken, his eyes filled with hate. “Is that so?” I taunted, leaning closer until I was inches from his face. “You think he’ll just come waltzing back in here, reclaim his throne, and everything will go back to how it was? Let me tell you something.” I lowered my voice, the threat curling through each word. “Shane isn’t coming back. He’s out there, weak, defeated, barely a shadow of what he once was. And while he’s hiding like the coward he is, I am here, ruling his pack, claiming his power, while all of you kneel before me.”
