FORGOTTEN IDENTITY
She nodded, satisfied, and sat with it for a moment longer.
"I'm going to tell both daddies the same things I've told you," she said finally. "Not because I need to, but because I've noticed that the things I keep to one person tend to stay smaller than the things I share with all three of you."
"That's very wise," I said.
"I've been paying attention," she said simply, and leaned against my shoulder with the easy, unselfconscious affection that had never, in twelve years, given any indication of diminishing with age.
