THE VEIL OF TWENTY MOON
“It remembers.”
They continued through corridors etched with carvings depicting the rise and fall of civilizations Darion had never heard of. Some images showed beings of impossible shape—curved shadows, star-eyed titans, wingless angels falling through shattered worlds. Others showed warriors bearing symbols similar to Darion’s pendant, as if the prophecy had roots far older than he imagined.
Suddenly, the chamber ahead came alive with shifting light. As they entered, the whispers silenced instantly.
In the center stood a floating obelisk, wrapped in chains forged of pure darkness. The chains pulsed like serpents, tightening and loosening as though the obelisk breathed.
