We pulled away slowly, leaving her there in the dust. She shrank in the rearview mirror, finally collapsing on the pavement, like some broken toy left behind. I did not feel a thing. She chose her road, and I set the final scene. She wanted to play traitor; she had to be ready for the fallout. Seth? His time in the clink was anything but a cakewalk. I had made sure to pull some strings early that morning. Given his crimes and the fact that he had lost everything, along with the coldness I could not quite hide, it was inevitable that he would be taught a harsh lesson by someone: what it felt like when everyone turns against you.

We'll go some other time" I think the phrase, shattering of heart is a bit too underrated and considered too literal, used in literary works and in certain kind of situations to prove how pleasant our grasp of good grammar is cause I can testify that my heart practically broke into a million pieces that all the glue in the world wouldn’t even dare put together if they tried as I read through Detective Roman's message that morning.
