Intertwined
The city pulsed with its rush hour heartbeat, horns echoing faintly even from up here, but inside this glass dome, with her hair whipping against her cheeks and her laughter tumbling out—too bright, too contagious—I felt invincible.
“Renzo,” she squealed over the headset, her words followed instantly by breathless laughter, “if this thing tips I swear to God…”
“It won’t tip, amore,” I said smoothly, though I tightened my hold on her waist. “Unless you keep wriggling like that, then maybe we’ll test the laws of physics together.”
