She had become the show. Tasha reached the end of the runway, her heart racing. She felt the weight of hundreds of eyes on her, yet she stood tall, taking in the thunderous applause. She had turned what could have been a disaster into a triumph, and the feeling of victory swirled within her.

Now that she mentioned it, she did have an uncanny resemblance to him. “But don’t worry… when I win… it’ll be fair and square,” she said with a plastered smile. “I’ve been trained by the best, so I’m bound to win after all.” She flipped her long blonde hair over her shoulder and gave me a wink which made my blood boil. I didn’t bother saying anything to her; the other girls in the bathroom who were talking to her before I arrived all chuckled amongst themselves, thinking they had bested me. It only fueled my fire though, making me want to take her down first.

Alexander’s POV Sophia beams as she holds up her award, but I can see it—the hollow look behind her smile, the way her shoulders slump ever so slightly despite the bright lights and applause. She’s always dreamed of winning, of being the star, yet now that she’s here, the excitement doesn’t seem to reach her eyes. The crowd’s cheers die down as Isabel and Roy step onto the stage, radiant and confident, their faces practically glowing with pride.

Walking by, I would catch bits of their hushed gossip. "She's so annoying. She's just jealous because the younger girl is prettier." "Wow! She's mean, always competing with other girls." Camila stopped pretending to be nice and told everyone how mean I was to her, playing the innocent victim. I felt left out at school, and even Alexander started to act distant. He did not know that I had to start taking medication for the stress from money and school matters. This put me in a depressive state. At the graduation dance, I did not even try to dress up. Standing next to Alexander in his fancy suit, I felt like a plain Cinderella.

"Starlight, meet Skyline. All the videos you watched about performance and how to put on a show were made by her. She's the best in this city, whether people like it or not." Her hazel eyes open wide, her mouth spreading out into a grin. "No way! Ok, so I totally won't fangirl here, but OMG!!" She screeches and the bitter bitch turns around like she has something to say. She looks familiar, but I can't place her under all the makeup and glitter. She decides not to speak though, instead pushing past us to leave for the night. We were the last act of the night, the finale so to speak. Proabably took her spot and she's salty.

The crowd. The way people would look at her. The way they wouldn’t be able to look away. She already commanded attention without trying. That was just who she was. Quiet. Controlled. Unbothered. And people noticed that. They always had. But in that dress? I let out a sharp breath, shaking my head slightly as something uncomfortable settled in my chest. She’d outshine the entire room. Hell, she’d outshine the bride. And I didn’t like that thought nearly as much as I should have.

“I’m not.” I raised an eyebrow. “No?” Audrey exhaled sharply. “I know she’s good, but that doesn’t mean I’m afraid of her.” She leaned forward slightly, determination tightening her jaw. “I’m going to win.” I held her gaze, then nodded once. “Good.” She blinked, as if surprised that I didn’t argue. I pushed my chair back and stood. “Then remember this—don’t just focus on outshining her. Focus on being better than you were yesterday. That’s how you’ll win.”

And they're loving every second. Let her enjoy the spotlight. Let her spin her tales. Because when I step up— I'll leave a lasting impression.

Warren I’ve seen my mate looking sweet and shy when she’s in front of the pack, I’ve seen her looking confident and powerful when she’s in the hospital, I’ve seen her looking passionate and fiery when we marked and mated, but tonight, when she walks out, arm-in-arm with her other ranked members, I see her looking like the Luna that she is.
