Her brother was lost in the snow. She couldn't have stopped the tears if she tried. The engine droned through her mind, telling her that she was going to lose everything she cared about. She tried to keep the sobs of terror and loss inside, to keep them where she was in control, but it was no use. Her body shook and couldn't contain them. She didn't want Ethan to see her like this. She didn't want anyone to see her break like this, but especially not him. Of all the people in all the world, he was the last person she wanted to see her fall apart.

She didn't have to be this harsh to that poor soul who is unaware of this fact. "It's too late now. Even if I want to try how everything works out with him, I can't turn everything around." Hopelessness could be seen in her voice. No this can't be. I just can't let her give up. She would get to experience this kind of thing only one time in her life. And finally when there was a way she could move on and live a happy life, she messed it up. She needs to keep on fighting like a brave girl she already was.

"You look sickly. You haven't shaved and you look like you're going to pass out any moment." I expelled a heavy breath and pulled my arm away. "I'm not sick, I've had a rough week." She purses her lip and pinned me with a sympathetic look. "Is this how you plan to get your wife back? By looking like a cancer patient?" I clenched my fist against the surge of unwelcome feelings. I didn't want to have this conversation. "Hope doesn't want me anymore." She waved my comment away with her hand. "It's clear as day that Hope is passionate about you."

They stripped her bare right on the spot and shaved her head bald, carving the word 'ho' on her face. The wife got away with it because she had a documented history of mental illness, and the people she brought with her were all psychiatric patients, too. There was nothing Sue could do but accept the humiliation. She was beaten until she passed out, then sent to the hospital by a kind-hearted colleague. When she woke up once more, she had lost her mind as well. Whenever she woke up, she would stare out the window and mutter, "I'm sorry… I'll never be a mistress again…"

There's no light for hope to live. She somehow desires to perish because there's no reason at all to live. She never had a nice childhood, she never had a complete family, her life is hopeless. She wept and pierced down the metal edge onto her wrist. "Die, Dorothy. You must die."

The hatred I had always felt when it came to her was no longer there. She looked desperate. "Did you put thoughts into his head just like you tried to do to me?" I asked. She laughed. "You ungrateful bastard! I loved you but you couldn't even listen to your mother. You had to follow your selfish father. It's a shame you have ended up this way," she smirked. I noticed she was not as clear-headed as she was a few hours ago. Was she still on those drugs? It's been years! She was delusional. "You didn't love me. You loved your drugs more. I'm so sorry for your precious son because I'll get him soon. No matter where he hides," I promised her.

“But the hope they want to buy isn’t real. It’s relief. It’s silence. It’s ease disguised as unity.” She paced slowly now, not circling the chair but ignoring it. “Hope without conflict is branding. Hope without memory is seduction. I’m not interested in that kind of hope.” “I want the kind that aches.” She looked at no one. And everyone. “The kind that says: you don’t have to be whole to be worth following. The kind that lets you feel wrong before you feel better. The kind that doesn’t perform.” Nova glanced down feeds were spiking. Not in disapproval.
