Found (Book #8 in the Vampire Journals)

He was merely coming to get something to drink, and they were in the way. As he walked in, the sheep swarmed all around him, filling the square, all heading for the well. They must have known it was watering time. Within moments, Caitlin and Caleb found themselves in the midst of the flock, the delicate animals nudging them out of the way so they could get to the water. Their impatient bleating filled the air, as they waited for their shepherd to tend to them. Caitlin and Caleb moved aside as the shepherd approached the well, turning the rusty crank, and slowly raising the pail. As he went to lift it, he pulled back his hood.

Taking stock of the cattle, the gardens, the fields of wheat and corn. While he does all of that, I stick to the sheep. We have sheep in Endova, and it was the only thing I enjoyed about my duties to my pack. Herding the sheep to the plains to graze; herding them back when the sun set. Guarding them, protecting them, making sure they didn’t fall behind or get lost. I’m good at it. I understand their tiny brains.

is someone stealing your books. I red a story almost identical to this a few weeks ago but I can't remember the name of it. The girl was running from a bad pack though and ran into the alpha who offered a proposal to her to be his breeder for protection. Everything else is identical

These books have been my lifeline. I am crushed to reach this point and have to leave this beautifully tragic world and all its perfectly flawed characters. I can't wait for the next update, and honestly hope (though I know it is in vain) we get to follow this family tree for even more generations.

His genuine compliment made Raiden laugh. “It’s nothing,” he smiled. However, his eyes soon became sad. “The song was created by my sister, and my mother trained these sheep. My only job is to bring them out to eat grass and return before sundown.” “They sound like amazing people,” Zen agreed as they arrived at a large barn. It looked old but cosy, and the sheep bleated loudly when they saw their home. “They were amazing,” Raiden confirmed. “It’s the only reason I continue caring for this flock. Once they are all dead, I will most likely leave for the city.”

The Lansing House

The Lansing House

“The Shropshire is a dual yield sheep. Wool and meat. The land running adjacent to this property is up for sale. We could buy it, build winter shelters for the sheep, and let them graze the land.” “Have you run the numbers?” “No. I can design the layout of what we’d need, but you’re the numbers man. Think about it, it could be a new start for you,” Asher said. “I like the dual yield idea. There’s a big market for both, but you do realize there are like 20 sheep ranches just in this county, alone?” “And people like to eat meat,” Asher said. “True. Let me make a few calls. You can start on the layout and design, and I can work out how much we’re going to need to finance this little operation.”

His Breeder

His Breeder

Standing there amidst the crowd of bustling bodies, Alessia felt a rope slowly wind around her throat and carefully draw itself taut. “Less!” Her head snapped to the left, eyes squinting at Damen who stood beside a fruit vendor. She approached them whilst silently praying for some kind of breakthrough before it was too late. If I hadn’t run away from her, we wouldn’t be here in the first place. The old man was loading his mule with crates of sheepskin wearing a powder blue turban. He paused to look at her for a long time with milky cataract eyes before replying, “I might have seen her.”

I'm happy for the update of this novel, it is very compelling. I'm very excited on what would happen next to Alessia. I know it's a dark romance novel. I just hope it won't be too dark that it would overpower the romance aspect.
