Shifter Series Novels & Stories

I’m glad she understands that is what I need right now. I’ve spent most of this week with Tyson, Greta, and Maddox. They have all been helping me with sparing, calisthenics and running, aiding me in improving my performance times. Shifters tend to focus on using all of their senses versus just sight, like humans tend to do. I have learned quite a bit from them and because their training is most usually about pack protection, the physical aspects they’ve focused on are entirely different than what I focus on when working out with the Packers.

I rolled my eyes as a man came on screen in place of our Lady President. Gerald Brandt was an older gentleman to me. Looked over 30 to me, so that's old. He had dark brown hair that was cut short and piercing green eyes. He went on to explain there were 5 types of shifters. Dragons (which are apparently the rarest), Foxes, Lions, Werewolves, and Bears. I was mesmerized as he spoke. I felt like I was either in one of my dreams or a fantasy book. "SO COOL!" I whisper-yelled. I didn't realize how angry my Dad was until I spoke out loud.

“I wasn’t really thinking then, but I felt nothing unusual.” “Good,” he nodded. “Are you a fast shifter?” “I guess I am,” I answered with a frown. “What does it have to do with anything?” “Shifting is usually hard on your body. The easier your shift is, the less dangerous it is for the babies. You are still in the first trimester, so it’s probably not a problem for now, but you will have to be more careful as the babies grow,” he explained, moving the machine across my stomach.

There were plenty of covert scandals, breaking pack laws, illicit affairs, rejecting mates for the rogue next door, a wolf shifter trying to explain to her mate that she was pregnant with a bear shifter’s cub. They even did the thousand-yard stare right before the ending credits rolled. After I watched the first episode, I was hooked. I was sure the boys regretted giving me dominion of the TV remote.

The educated part of my brain knew that it was pointless, that the tests had been right in the first place and that the results would be exactly the same this time round, but the emotional part of me just wasn’t willing to accept that. Shifter pregnancies were a little more difficult on the mums than normal human pregnancies, I mean we’re not aliens or anything, things still progress at the same rate and full term is 40 weeks, but growing a shifter is a little harder than growing human. They zap more energy. So, being pregnant would certainly explain a lot.

I swear they are the fastest at shifting, well under a minute. But they have different training regimens, led by like warriors. Training for those groups is more of an apprenticeship at first. Then they join the candidates in the final round to build pride link tactics and strategy as they are more scouts, trackers, and eyes for the warriors on the ground. Though all the shifters are good at tracking, the fliers are pivotal in directing the ground troops. The Reptiles are great with sentry duty along the perimeter as they signal to the rest of the coming attack.
