That was just a passive ability of the Carbonemys it had yet to launch an attack.

Jake and Dristan stood a few paces behind me, growled when the pair bared their teeth at me, but I held up a hand to tell them it was okay. ‘Shadow, can we sense their Aura?’ she complied because immediately their fur began to shine a bright blue; I relaxed considerably at this sight.

“…You’re my SHADOW. So, you fucking STAY as one!” Black tendrils spread from her shadow onto Nozomi. It wrapped around Nozomi's arms as it climbed up to her face. It also spread down her torso to her legs. The more the tendrils consumed Nozomi, the more the shadow melted away, as if they were melding into one.

Thankfully, Zabdiel was not injured so much. Barbie won easily over Ylena. She didn't even have to use her full strength on lightning to defeat the Water Kryst. Kieran Lornn won against Saito but not without sustaining injuries. The Shadow Element is one of the rare element of Demetrius. Along with Telekinesis, Lightning, and other rare elements, only one wield the Shadow element successfully. If not because of Kieran's full ability over the Earth, he would have been defeated by Saito. It can move past tangible objects, hard to evade and very flexible. Kieran finally subdued Saito through the mud.
