I roll the empty cocktail glass between my fingers. “Shit, Six?” I call out, gesturing toward him where he stands a few feet behind us. Six walks up and leans down to my ear. “Sir?” “I need a real fucking drink, Six. Get me something strong.” He nods once and walks off toward the entrance without a word. I need something to numb this fucking pain that’s refused to go away for weeks. Each time I set my eyes on her, it grows deeper. I need a shot just to get through today without losing my mind.

Chapter 95: On a good Saturday. I hesitated, but succumbed anyways. “Just one,” I said, not thinking too much to it, a shot with hurt. We sat on the couch, the city lights reflecting on the river outside. Caleb poured us both a drink, handing me a glass. “To better days,” he said, clinking his glass against mine. I took a sip. The whiskey burned going down, but it warmed me from the inside. We talked for a while about hockey, about the team drama, about nothing important. Caleb was easy to talk to when he wasn’t trying too hard. He listened. He didn’t push.

Angel screamed when he was laid on a platform near the campfire, with his hands and feet tied apart. "Calm down, darling..." Jack smiled crookedly as he stroked the side of Angel's face gently. "I'll just bite your neck a little and suck your blood. After that, you will truly be my Luna."
