My fingers were cramping, my thesaurus was smoking, and I kept picturing my editor sending me an email with only one word: "Seriously?" When I started outlining this story and figuring out the twists and turns, I came up with almost 60... maybe 50-something... different plot points and outlines just to keep the momentum going. Sixty! Fifty! I lost count! That's how dedicated I was to not making this story boring. That’s like a novella’s worth of rejected ideas!

I don't have any idea right now, and no plots are coming to my mind. I check the time, and it's already 10 am. I didn't even type a single word on my laptop. I would like to know why he suddenly asked me to create a story!

Suit pouted childishly at Anderson, and continued, “Do we have a deal, Mr. Anderson?” Anderson stared back and forth between Suit and the scroll. His mind was racing. The contract sounded simple enough. Straightforward, but he did not understand. ‘What did he mean by survive ten stories? Did he not say I was going to tell a story? What does survive the story mean?’ Question after question popped up into his head. He could not help himself. He had no idea exactly what it meant, but one thing was for certain; He would not move forward if he did nothing but constantly question the situation.

I loved being more practical. I stared at my blank page, tapping the pen against it. I had no clue what to write about. The instructions were to write a short story of one thousand words. I didn't want it to feel forced. I looked up at Crislynn who was writing away. I let out a heavy sigh and then I looked down at my blank page again.

“Sit. Open the document on your laptop. The journal entry. Read the first three paragraphs aloud and slowly.” My hands shook as I obeyed. The screen glowed with my own desperate prose. I started reading, my voice barely a whisper at first. “He watches me like he knows every filthy thought I hide behind polite answers. When he says my name, my core clenches, empty and desperate for the thick stretch of him. I imagined him bending me over his desk, lifting my skirt and…” “Stop.” His commanding voice stopped me. “Slower. Savour each word, let me hear how wet it makes you.”

I once thought that it would be quite impossible for me to write up to 50,000 words. After all, this is my first story. But here we are! I'm just really happy that the book got this far.
