He was the past she meant. “Can you take us a little deeper into that?” the interviewer pressed gently. Thalia bit her lip, her eyes dropping to the floor before she gathered the courage to speak. “I don’t really know how to explain it,” she admitted. “But people often think inspiration only comes from happy memories, from victories and encouragement. For me, it’s the opposite. My inspiration comes from the nights I cried myself to sleep, from the days I walked into rooms and felt like I was a nobody because to some people I'm always the villain.

But then, one question stood out from the rest “What’s the motivation behind this?” It surprised me. I scanned the crowd and focused on George. He looked back at me without blinking. “My reason.” I began quietly, “is actually very simple.” I looked around the room, but my focus returned to George. It was time to show my hand, at least a little. “I was picked on and treated badly my whole life.” I said with my voice strong but full of emotion. “People thought I was weak because I had no wolf, but they didn't see my true strength. I guess that inspired and motivated me to protect in that way I could.”

She let out a deep exhale. "Tell me about the hardest thing you have to deal with when you have trouble writing." I interrogated her, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of her. "Obviously, we must write the story from start to finish, especially if we're developing a character. You see, readers are what inspire writers, and when we don't receive views, we become unmotivated to create. Receiving negative feedback from readers weakens our trust in our story, leading to a loss of hope and motivation to write more."
