########## Scarlett's POV I was in my room that evening, flipping through a novel when the power went out so suddenly that for a second, I thought I had imagined it. One second, the warm light from my bedroom lamp lit up the room, creating long shadows on the walls, then darkness swallowed everything whole. My heart stopped. “No, no, no,” I whispered to myself. A thick silence filled the air, pressing against my ears and making the room feel smaller, heavier. I gripped the edge of the bed, my breath caught in my throat. I hated the dark. Cypress yells. "Good, because next time, I'll roast your nuts," I scream after him. I'm not sure if any of them heard me, but I still laugh. When I turn around, everyone is once again staring at me in shock. This is getting old quickly. "I must say I never thought the smallest in the room would be the scariest," Austin says, bowing slightly to me. I chuckle as Eli puts his arm around me. "I'm sure they'll be back, and I'm sure they're not the only ones we'll have to deal with. Can you tell me what we should do now?" I ask my parents.

"Why does it always have to be the nights when I need a taxi the most that they decide to disappear? It's like they have a secret meeting or something" She glanced around, hoping to spot any sign of a taxi, but the streets remained empty. "Come on, taxis, I promise I won't keep you waiting long. Just one little ride home, that's all I ask!" She bit her lips when something unexpected happened. Her eyes widened in disbelief as fear crept into her heart. Rumble! It was about to rain! Now the thing was, Scar had a phobia for the rain, after a terrible experience when she was just a little girl.

I don't even have his number! "Hello? Who's there?" I whispered. It was like a horror movie. The girl in the forest screaming and running for her dear life. Maybe it is Jordan. He is a douchebag but can he pull such a stunt just to scare me? One thing I learned from the horror movies I watch is never to scream and run so I backed away and tried to be in the shade because the moon was up and bright. I don't want to be spotted or watched by who may or may not be my predator.

It was slow, deliberate, and chillingly intimate. I pulled my face in disgust, instantly rolling my eyes. My fear was quickly replaced by a sudden annoyance. If their goal was to scare me, they should've come up with something a lot more creative. "If you’re trying to scare me, you’re going to have to work a lot harder than that. I’ve had men try to kill me in my sleep. I've been sold like livestock. I've had a bounty on my head. To me, you’re just a heavy breather with too much free time."

“Don’t be afraid.” I forced myself not to laugh and whispered a reminder to him. “That ghost story… was the one I just told.” Kane froze. The awkwardness was impossible to hide on his face, and he slowly placed his hand back on the couch. 【At this moment, a 1.9-meter-tall burly man slowly tucked his feet back under the blanket.】 【I’ve heard this story before, but I’m still scared—what do I do? Wuwu, I don’t dare sleep!】

He was lying face down, and face up, all at once. I live in that house now. I am the village "fixer." And every night, I listen to the scratching beneath the floorboards. I don't fear the ones that crawl. I fear the ones that wait. Because now I know that the most terrifying thing in the world isn't death—it’s a corpse that refuses to close its eyes.

His one hand is rubbing my back and other hand is caressing my head to calm me. "Why are you scare. Tell me what happened?" He asked me again. "There is cockroach in a kitchen and....and it's flying." I said while squeezing my eyes shut I pushed myself more to Siddharth and hide my face in his chest. I still can feel it's creepy legs on me. I am feeling like he is still sitting on my neck and hand. "What happened to her?" "Why is she screaming?" "Bhabhi what happened?" Papa, Anshul and keerti asked in unison. But I was too scare to look at them or pull away from Siddharth. I still standing there hiding my face in Siddharth's chest and his arms are around me.

“…the lady in the shadows…the one who watches you and wants you dead…” As the little girl's words from her vision swept over her,Beth felt a sense of terrifying unease. It was a coincidence,she told herself,nothing more.It was impossible that the little girl and Marcus could be speaking of the same thing,it was just impossible! “The lady in the shadows?”she said,her hands trembling in fear. In her mind she saw herself lying cold and frozen in that casket.

" She said and I rolled my eyes slightly. “What do you think I am, 5?? I can't get scared from the letters in the pages of a book plus the real world is a lot scarier than any content that can be found in a book." I said and at that moment I thought about what nearly happened to me some days back. Almost getting raped is like a scene straight out from a horror movie, it's by far the most scariest thing I could think of and I am glad I was able to come out of it with only a bitter taste in my mouth and not an actual emotional scar that would last forever...
