Long Story Short, I survived. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Dear Readers. I would like to apologize for the inconsistent writing format. The truth of the matter is, I wanted to experiment on different ways to write without feeling bound to a specific rule of writing. From chapter 19 onward, I’ll resume my previous writing style before this one, the reason I’m doing this is I haven’t found the correct writing format I’m most comfortable with and the previous one wasn’t working out for me since it went against many writing rules. I also would like to put an apology for not hinting that chapter 19 will have an erotic moment between Rogue and Lucifer.

The three marks on Wren’s inner forearm itched with a low, persistent thrum, a living tattoo of longing etched into her skin by a ritual gone beautifully, catastrophically wrong. They weren't scars, but claims waiting to be made. One for tender worship, one for rude praise, one for slow dominance. Tonight, the first of them, a silvery crescent like a wolf’s gentle bite, burned with a need that was becoming a torment.

I sat at the kitchen table while Nathan put breakfast in front of me. I wrote and rewrote until the words were exactly right. Simple, clean with no complex legal language. At eight-fifty I read it to Nathan. "Six sentences," he said. "Everything important fits in six sentences." "Send it to Blake." I sent it. Blake called immediately. "It's good. Emily, it's really good." "Is it too short?" "It's perfect. Short means confident, long means defensive." A pause. "Geneva feed comes through in eight minutes. Sarah has a direct line. I'll patch you both soon ."

It was called ‘brief writing’. Brief writing is nothing but a conversational summary of every other bestseller that made it to the public. If one is not interested in reading the whole book, he/ she can opt to read the brief writing and bam! He’d be conversant about the three-hundred-page novel enough to not only talk about it in public but also put forward an opinion. For many busy Alphas like me–it is nothing less than pure magic. In less than twenty-five pages, it instils confidence alongside quotation and so I have been surviving in the ‘society; with my envious intellect.
