Shower Thoughts About Sleep Novels & Stories

*** I’ll never be able to understand how people function with little to no amount of sleep. I sleep a lot, I enjoy it. This is why on the days I can’t seem shut my mind off, I turn to the arms of sleep. I feel like a nightmare. I probably look like one too, so drag my body from the bed late in the morning straight into the shower. Hoping the hot jets of water will make me feel better.

Thomas. I can't sleep properly. My thoughts are turned to the nightmare that Elisa had, seeing her so scared made me feel bad, making me uneasy. I check the time, seeing that it's already six o'clock and I take a deep breath, sitting on the bed, stretching my body. I get out of bed and go to the bathroom, already taking off my night clothes and heading to a cold shower. I like cold showers in the morning, it wakes me up and keeps me active for the rest of the day.

《Avery's POV》 I stood underneath the shower and let the warm water cascade down my body. It was refreshing amd soothing. It also helped in hiding the fact that I didn't have enough sleep last night. It wasn't because of a nightmare or because I couldn't fall asleep due to the fear of someone watching me or trying to break into my apartment like before. This time, I couldn't sleep early because I was working till the early hours of today. I haven't been at the company for a while so I had to finish off with the things that needed my attention.

Before I fall asleep I will take a shower, today I do not want to have dinner. But I throw my shoes and the sack to the side. In addition, I do something liberating: I get rid of my skirt and bra in the privacy of my room, lying on the bed and closing my eyes. But that idea is not too good. Because once I'm immersed in my thoughts I can only think of one thing. Yeah, on him.

I made a mental note to be more vigilant and aware of my surroundings from now on. With a heavy sigh, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself. As I walked back to my room, I tried to think of other things that would take my mind off of the threat. I focused on these happy thoughts, allowing them to soothe my mind and bring me a sense of peace. And before I knew it, I had drifted off to sleep, lost in a dreamless slumber.

As I opened the door to my room, the wood creaking softly, I let out a sigh of relief. I felt exhausted after a long run and I needed to take a warm shower. I step into the bathroom and turn on the shower, I sink into the warm embrace of the bathwater, and my mind begins to wander. I close my eyes and let the steam envelop me, thinking back to the events of the day. And then, suddenly, my thoughts drift to Veronica.

I decided to stay the night here as it would be troublesome to come back now and come back to the office early in the morning as my office building is nearby. In the room after taking a shower I was laying on my bed trying to sleep. The shower was… unreal. Warm water cascaded over my skin and it washed away the weight of the day. I stood there longer than I should have, and let the heat soak into me. I was doing everything to quiet my thoughts and it didn’t work. Absolutely nothing. By the time I stepped out and changed into something soft and comfortable. I was refreshed, yet my mind was still racing. I climbed back onto the soft bed, my eyes drifted shut, but sleep didn’t come immediately. Because I knew, deep down, tomorrow was either going to be the best day of my life or the worst.

It is the middle of the week and another long day of working. Dragging myself out of bed, I hop in the shower hoping to wake myself up. I literally catch myself falling back to sleep while washing my hair. How is that even possible? Only getting three to four hours of sleep at night, being on your feet all day, and not eating enough. That is how people fall asleep while washing their hair in the shower.
