Quill looks equally surprised to see me, “What’re you doing here? Didn’t you already have guard duty last week? I mean the whole fiasco that took place what with your new best friend trying to abandon you down in the tunnels?”
“You’re funny,” I say, dryly. “So, funny I can’t stop laughing.”
“Thank you,” he smiles, cheekily. “Anyway, let’s go?”
I head down first and as he comes down, I tell him, “We’re not splitting up.”
“Have to,” he says, regretfully. “One of us has to take the side tunnels.”
“We’ll do it together.”
When he gives me an odd look, I admit, “After last time, I don’t want to be alone.”
