The chanting grew louder as we approached, until we reached a small clearing.
There, in the center, a group of rogues knelt in a circle, their heads bowed. At the center of the circle was a strange, glowing sigil carved into the ground, pulsating with dark energy.
“What the hell is that?” Killian whispered.
“I don’t know,” I said, my magic flaring in response to the ominous energy. “But it’s not good.”
The rogues didn’t seem to notice us, their chanting continuing as the sigil’s glow intensified. I felt a wave of nausea as I stared at it, the dark magic emanating from it unlike anything I’d encountered before.
