He could smell it beneath the dried blood and sweat. But she hadn't made a sound of complaint. Hadn't asked for water. Or food. Or mercy. She was waiting. Watching. Cataloging everything. Cole moved closer, circling around until he stood directly in front of her. She didn't look up. Didn't acknowledge his presence. Just sat there, breathing slowly and deliberately, her face carefully blank. "You're good at this," he said quietly. "The silence. The stillness. Damien trained you well." Natasha's lips curved slightly. Not quite a smile, but something close.

I glare at him, my brows frowned. "She most certainly does. See I pretty much know everything about our students except her. She doesn't talk about her family and nobody at The Academy seems to know anything either. Even the information given to the school after she joined was vague...” He takes a sip of his beer, his eyes trained on me, “All the school knows about the Silent Student is that she comes from a rich family that possibly has connections to the chairman and that her name is Atlas Winters. She's practically a ghost at The Academy. Did you know that her age isn’t even in our system?"

Natasha continued, “is what we need in this company, and that’s clearly what Angela lacks. So I beckon you all to think deeply before casting your votes.” The murmuring and silent whispers continued. Their not-so-loud voices banged in my head, almost causing a headache. I stood from my seat, walked towards Natasha, and stood right behind a seat that should be rightfully mine. “It is said that nobody is talking when everyone is talking.” The murmuring continued. “Silence!”
