Asher brought the bottle to his lips, and the way his nose scrunched disdainfully had me erupting in laughter. “Is it good?” I teased. “As good as cheap beer can be.” He grunted, his eyes dragging down the length of my body until he stopped just where my hands were, fumbling with the button to my shorts. “Not all of us can afford that fancy bourbon you drink.” Cassidy giggled, but Asher’s attention was otherwise diverted. "I personally think it tastes like gasoline either way."

Every step was calculated, every action rehearsed. “We’re in position,” Olivia whispered into her communications. Asher’s voice crackled in answer. “You’re clear. Go.” The server room buzzed with technology, filled with bright machines along the walls. Olivia typed quickly on the keyboard, expertly navigating past firewalls and encryption security. Mira stood guard, her sharp eyes searching for any signs of trouble. “Almost there,” Olivia mumbled. “Just need another minute.” But a minute was all it took for the unexpected to happen.

"Please, Ryan, don't do this. He's your son! Please, don't take this from me!" But Ryan's mind was filled with anger and betrayal. He opened the urn and began to pour the ashes onto the ground. "No!" Sophia wailed, her cries echoing through the cemetery. She lunged forward, her hands clawing at the ashes as they scattered. The gray powder clung to her hair and skin, mixing with her tears as she wept uncontrollably. She pressed her head to the ground, her body trembling with sorrow. Ash sensed him and cursed loudly. "Oh, what the fuck?!"

Savory gasped when Ash showed her my phone screen. Another fine man? Maybe that's even better. I sipped out of my milkshake. The more I drink, the dizzier I get. "Let me see." "You don't need to ask, girl." Ash said. "Let me match with him real quick!" She said fangirling whoever that is. That made me chuckle. "Oh my God, he matched back!" Ash screamed. Thank God for loud music. It would've been almost impossible to not attract eyes any way else.

I rubbed them together and started scrubbing my body non stop. I couldn't stop subbing while I did that. Few minutes later I was done bathing. I walked out of the bathroom naked and I was shocked to see Nina already there. I tried running back to the bathroom but she stopped me. "What are you doing?" She asked looking suprised. I rubbed my hand behind my neck twisting my legs. "I....I... need a towel" I answered. She handed a towel over to me. I wrapped the towel around me and gradually cleaned my body with the edge.

“Go ‘head and call it in.” The crackle of a radio stung my ears. “Ashford is dead.” The second one said. An electronic beep signaled the end of his message. “Can’t believe I killed an Alpha. You think I’ll get a raise for it?” “He’s not an Alpha. Not yet, anyway.” “Well, he ain’t gonna be now.” A loud, wet laugh echoed throughout the mall. Seconds passed when Macon’s sent slithered into my nostrils. I let the shock flow through me, releasing it as quickly as it had come. All that mattered was my breathing, keeping my heartbeat slow.

Ash’s POV The roar of the clubhouse hit me before I even turned off my engine. Laughter, shouts and the sound of bottles clinking rent the air and for a moment, I wonder how they could easily fall back into their normal lives less than twelve hours after an attack. It was chaos the way I remembered it, but somehow louder and more… non challant. Inside, the air was thick with smoke and sweat. A few brothers cheered when they saw me, others nodded, their eyes sharp, reading me like they weren’t sure what version of Ash had come back.

My throat felt raw, and when I tried to speak up for myself, all that came out was a harsh cough. Brianna rushed in, crying her eyes out. She practically threw herself into Caleb's arms. "I just had another nightmare, Cay. I dreamed I was burning alive in the fire. I'm so scared…" Caleb's face, which had just started to soften, tightened again as soon as he heard her.
