We enter the building and everyone immediatley goes quiet, so quiet I think that maybe someones shot a gun and I never heard the bullet leave the gun. He took off his glasses and set them trembling on the desk. "I only know a codename," Greene whispered. "Devil." Avery felt a chill settle in her bones. Dominic didn't move, but his eyes darkened. Suddenly, Greene’s phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and turned the color of ash. CRASH! The office window exploded inward. Glass shrapnel rained down. Avery dove for cover, a stray shard slicing a thin, stinging line across her cheek.

His eyes, cold and sinister, glinted like those of a venomous snake. Her scalp tingled as their gazes met. She stared at him warily. "What d-do you want with us? W-where's my driver? W-what have you done to him?" she stammered. Greg smirked. "Ms. Sutton, you sure have a lot of questions for someone whose life is in danger. And yet, you're worried about your driver?" He took a slow sip of his wine, the dark red liquid staining his pale lips, amplifying the menace in his presence.

She knew what her responsibility was. “Tell me who did those things to the Green Lake, Irene,” she turned around, staring into Irene’s eyes, “You must tell me that Alpha's name.” Irene sighed, putting the glass on the counter. “It was Gregson,” she said, averting her gaze at Darren, “You’ve already killed him last year because he tried to ambush you on your way back from the vampires.” Darren clenched his fists subconsciously. It was unexpected news, out of all his good or bad assumptions. He didn’t know how to react.
