Splash! The freezing, viscous waste pool swallowed my body whole. The murky water flooded my nose and mouth, carrying a bitter, searing taste. As suffocation surged and the bone-chilling cold seeped deep into my flesh, I didn’t even bother to struggle. I let my hands go limp, allowing my body to sink gradually toward the bottom of the deep abyss.

I didn't give myself time to breathe, I just allowed myself to sink down. I realized that I was drowning so I struggled to swim back to the top but no matter how much I pushed upwards, I sank more instead. I screamed at the top of my lungs but my screams came out as muffled cries. My body slowly went motionless as I sank to the bottom of the lake.
