I nod in satisfaction and allowed them to audition. Half an hour later Jaqueline drags her friend on stage behind her. The footsteps seemed to be coming from all directions, surrounding her, closing in. Melissa tried to run, but her legs felt heavy, as if weighed down by invisible chains. Panic surged through her veins as she realized she was trapped, unable to escape. The footsteps grew louder and more frantic, echoing in her ears like a haunting melody. Just as the footsteps reached a crescendo, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Lucas, his cold eyes piercing through the darkness.
