They drove through an open metal gate and continued down a gravel road with random lumps of grass sprouting in the middle, eventually leading to a small car park.

It’s not where anyone wishes to know anyway but it is called Deep-Woods because it is a thick forest with trees in it. If you wander in it, you can get lost. We are not too deep in the forest though. As soon as you escape from here and walk some distance, you will be on the streets in no time,” the boy explained to her and Amber slowly nodded.

She rushes to see the queen with this new development, she needs to nip this in the bud, if word gets out that Dean is mated to a siren, the king would protect her with his life. “You seem to feel like since I agreed to help you, you can barge in my room and disturb my peace Briar,” Penelope glares, “what is it? Did you brat run into trouble?” “Yes, a siren,” Briar says. Penelope had lit up in excitement, any news on sirens was her favorite. “Explain Briar,” Penelope orders. “His majesty’s mate is not a mermaid but a siren,” Briar says angrily, “ugh, you know how hard it was to kill just one that time, she died because she chose to, how are we going to get rid of this one.”

“With me. Now.” Silas glanced between us, then nodded once. “The woods are restless. Take him. But stay close to the estate. The priests are circling.” Rook didn’t wait for more permission. His massive hand closed around my wrist and he pulled me toward the heavy back doors that led into the ancient cursed woods. I grabbed a thick cloak on the way out, heart hammering with equal parts fear and anticipation.

I wanted to trust his promise with all my heart. But as the dark night hours finally fell over the woods and the massive bonfires roared higher into the sky, shedding a bright orange light across the campground, I simply could not ignore the sound of Siren’s loud, smoky laughter echoing across the clearing. She was sitting on a wooden bench, surrounded by a tight circle of huge, rugged bikers who clearly respected her strength and her place in their world.

The drive to the place takes longer than usual but we eventually pull up at the dark woods that leads to the woodmil. We exit the car, slamming our doors. Crickets and other night birds hoot and caw as I round the car to Rain’s side. She’s darting her eyes around wonderingly, rubbing the chills away from her arms. “Where is this?” She asks, turning to face me. A lock of hair slips from her bun, falling into her face. I grab the hair and tuck it back into place. My fingers lock with hers as we gaze into the looming darkness that is the woods.

I rolled my eyes raising the cigar to my lips. Sitting In Front of my wooden structured house with a stick of cigar in between my fingers I could see a squirrel running in-between the trees. It took a single blink for me to know someone was walking in the woods and in my direction. I concentrated my senses hoping to catch any scent but it was only the rush movement , the scent wasn't clear . It was as if the fucking animal was masking his or her scent and why would he or she do that? My golden eyes ran through the dark woods and the figure I saw seemed familiar but without a scent I could tell who she was. Especially with that black hoodie on her head.

He continued until the distinctive smell of the pack vanished and was replaced by the more untamed and wild scent of the deep woods. He entered the woods after leaving the road and the darkness greeted him as if he were an old friend. His senses alert, he paused and surveyed the area. The only noises were the distant hoot of an owl and the rustle of leaves. He inhaled deeply, allowed the chilly night air to fill his lungs, and then began to whistle. The sound was clear and sharp, a code that only a few people could decipher. After a moment, a reply came from the woods’ depths.

He is twice my size and more powerful than any other wolf I have seen till now. He unleashes a growl and takes steps in my direction while I am struggling in the mud. The distance between us shrinks into inches with him casting a shadow on me. He locks eyes with mine, tensing up my muscles. He sniffs the scent on my neck while I stay quiet, frozen on the ground. His big mouth is touching me everywhere over my top, snarling softly beneath growls. Suddenly, a loud siren announcing the end of the search party echoes through the woods. As he looks up, following the sound of the siren, I regain my senses and escape from his shadow.

I'd been hearing distant sounds and strange noises echo through the damned woods. A shiver ghosted through me. Navae Woods was considered the scariest forest in the continent so far. What made it terrifying was that it was crawling with monsters from different species. The instructions had specially warned me to avoid them. Despite the bright moon hovering up in the sky, I could barely see anything in the darkness. It could be dangerous to continue to wander in the darkness, and I couldn't keep being out in the open. Shae buzzed from my amethyst necklace, reminding me I wasn't alone before I kept moving from one tree to another.
