I have something to tell you.” “What’s the matter?” Callum noticed that the two store workers were out delivering flowers to customers. In fact, he purposely called to order two bouquets of flowers to send them away. Due to her two elder aunts, the business of Spring Blossoms had gone downhill.

She avoided him for the rest of the day. But that night, as she cleaned the study, she found something. A black notebook, half-buried under a pile of folders. Inside, dates. Payments. Names. A looked crossed his eyes,but it went away as quickly as it came, and soon he was looking at me amused again. President Blossom said, not only was she still insisting on the friendship part which was rather too confusing for Lindsey, she was also addressing her informally. "If you know we are friends then there is no need to call me President Blossom or President De Lamore, just call me Blossom," President Blossom added with a smile on her face. I mean, surely Buchanan and Willis Pharmaceuticals doesn't normally have fresh flowers on all their flights. I look from the flowers to Duncan, silently questioning.

She looked toward the window. The flowers were different. The four glowing red blossoms — the ones that had pulsed gently for weeks, always four, no more — had changed. There were six now. Two new petals had unfurled overnight. Quietly. Without warning. She blinked, breath catching. The fifth looked newer, less confident in its shape, but the sixth… The sixth pulsed stronger than the others. Brighter. And underneath that red light, the glass of the window had started to fog.
