SIR
My new seat is by the window, third row from the back, beside a girl named Petra who I have never spoken to and who appears to have no interest in starting now, which suits me perfectly.
The teacher starts talking. I open my bag and take out my sketchbook instead of my textbook, because whatever Mrs. Harlow is doing with the projector right now is genuinely not penetrating, and drawing is the one thing my hands can do that stops my brain from eating itself.
I get maybe ten minutes in before I notice the charcoals I’m using.
