He let out a large ear to ear smile as he gracefully bowed before heading back down the hallway. As he left I took another glance at the pile of books I held in my arms. I contemplated for a moment to even consider sketching the drawings down in fear Holden will see them. I'll just have to keep my book in a safe place and out of sight from Holden's prying eyes. I tossed the pile of supplies on the bed going through them one by one, trying to decide which one I would use to sketch. In my hand I held and very small black book, small enough to fit in a purse or even a pocket.

“We don’t have an attic in the apartment, Jake. Come on, help me with them. You promised you would.” He huffed and sat beside me on the floor. “I was thinking more of finding your old pictures, diaries, and even lingerie.” His look was heated when he whispered the last word, making me shiver. “I already packed most of them except my lingerie and books,” I replied and awed at the old Harry Potter book set my mom had bought me on my birthday. It was old but still held so many memories. Memories of me and Ethan sprawled on my bed or my bedroom floor reading books together, guessing each other’s Hogwarts house.

She looked at me, then slowly opened the sketchbook back up on the table. I leaned forward to look. On the open page was a full, detailed drawing of an athletic jacket and matching track pants. The lines were sharp, the shading was clean, and the style looked really impressive. "Whoa," I said, my eyes widening. "Can I flip through this?" She gave a small nod. I pulled the book toward me and turned the pages carefully. Every single page was filled with incredible designs. From Hoodies, to dresses, sneakers, and running shorts. Then girly dresses, random sketches and scribbles; Maya was even on a page; it's incredible.

Heath stood slowly, leaving the grimoire on the table, and came to stand behind her. “It does this,” she took one of the candles that she had lit and set the flame to the line of ash and blood. It flared to life, like a strip of magnesium, sizzling along the pentagram, etching the design into the cardboard before extinguishing. “And, voila! A spell trap for keeping freaky creatures.” Heath produced a handkerchief and wrapped it around her still bleeding finger. “So, what next?”

I question him again trying to break the ice, he seems to smirk a little looking over at me. "Well it started back in school I don't know how old I would've been, I was sat in class leaning back in my chair and for some reason behind me, you know back in the day you had those pens you had to dip in ink?" He asks me looking over with a smile, I nod saying quills he nods continuing "well I leant back in my chair when the chair moved and I fell, on the way down I tried to grab hold of something to stop me falling, but I end up grabbing the sheet of paper the tubs were of ink was on" he laughs which causes a little laugh to come out of my lips as I finish with his cut on his face.

After breakfast, we went back inside and lounged on the couch. I’d decided to pull out my sketchbook while he had his tablet in laptop mode. He said it was more busy-work than anything pressing. I ended up sketching him a few times as he worked. This latest one I decided to add creatures to him. A little dragon looking over his shoulder at the screen, a little fluffy flying sheep in his lap between the keyboard and him, and a few floating soot monsters above him. I was deciding what to put hanging off his tablet screen when I finally broke our silence. “That they needed to leave if they were going to disrespect me.”
