Little Osiris is huddled in his mother's arms, trying to hide his little face from the angry mob threatening to kill them. "I tell you what," the Alpha finally smirks. "I will give you a head start." Skye doesn't need to be told twice. She takes off, running toward the forest. As she runs, her body morphs and shifts. I try to keep up with her, but she is too fast. The last I see is a golden lycan running away from the mob. Osiris's little face is peering over her shoulder, watching his home fade into the distance.

“She is Daphne’s daughter! And—” Whatever he was about to say is lost as Sky uses her power, and her dark myst surrounds Sinn and his two men. Seconds later, they start to scream. The crowd erupted, but the sound felt miles away. I took the dagger, my hand trembling slightly as I made my own pledge. "I thought you were going to show Victor's girl the Castle," Sebastian said, approaching. "Her name is Ayla," Skyler said seriously. I waved my hand. Sebastian turned red, he hadn't even noticed me because his eyes were focused on Skyler, which leads me to believe that he likes Skyler. They're both vampires, and from what I've learned so far, it's normal for them not to find their fated mates.
