A Slap to the Face

A Slap to the Face

That night, I slept better than I had in over a decade. When I woke up the next morning, my phone was flooded with hundreds of missed calls and messages. I glanced through them briefly—Don, Nevaeh, Camden, and even those who had once bullied me were all among the senders. I blocked each one of them without hesitation. After coming downstairs and enjoying breakfast with my grandparents, the butler, Elliot Garcia, hurried in to announce, "Mr. Saccone Senior, Mrs. Saccone Senior, Ms. Magnolia, there's someone at the door from the Scott family."

The Eighth Time

The Eighth Time

“Nicole… maybe you could…” He didn’t need to be loud for me to know exactly what he meant. My grip tightened around the salve so hard it nearly cracked the container. This morning, when Alice had her outburst, she pointed a silver dagger at her own throat. With tears streaming down her face, she screamed in front of Henry, “My mom, my dad, and my brother, they’re all gone! No one loves me! What’s the point of living? If you don’t break your mate bond with Nicole today, I’ll end it all!”

The Fall

The Fall

We were near a small clearing, and I thought I could sketch the landscape. I sang softly to the song that I asked them to play at my fathers funeral, "Yelling at the sky, Screaming at the world. Baby, why'd you go away? I’m still your girl, Holding on too tight, Head up in the clouds, Heaven only knows where you are now..." Hunter laid across my legs, as I drew in my book. "How do I love? How do I love again? How do I trust, How do I trust again? I stay up all night, tell myself I'm alright. Baby, you're just harder to see than most, I put the record on, wait ’til I hear our song. Every night, I'm dancing with your ghost. Every night, I'm dancing with your ghost..." I pulled out the unopened

He extended his arm toward me as I stepped into the hall. At that moment, the host's voice rang out clearly, "Let us welcome today's happiest bride, the beautiful Madison Blake—along with her husband, the handsome Devon Ryder!"

Eighty-Eight Strikes and I'm Out

Eighty-Eight Strikes and I'm Out

Cindy froze. Her voice cracked. "What kidnapping? What are you even talking about?" Panic surged as she punched into her phone, jaw tight. She wired him $2,000 with a message: [Try this again and you won't see another cent.] Robert frowned at the tiny transfer but staggered to his feet anyway. He blew Cindy a gross, sloppy kiss. "Fine, fine. I'm out—for today. Don't forget to miss me, sweetheart." As he shuffled off, Cindy finally exhaled, her body loosening like a coiled spring.

Her Eighteenth Birthday

Her Eighteenth Birthday

I just knew She'd love them as she had always wanted a pair of diamond earrings. As I left my balcony back into my not-too-large bedroom, I dashed straight to my study table where I had left my cellphone the previous night. I immediately dialed Courtney's phone number as soon as she picked up, I shouted "Happy Birthday poo'' with a happy voice. (Poo, was how we addressed each other). She responded in her ethereal voice, Thank you so much Poo, I have been waiting for your call since midnight because that has always been your call time on my past birthdays. We both laughed and continued chatting.

ECHOES✔️

ECHOES✔️

The Echoes always waiting for any opportunity to lash out at me. I was still thinking about how the garden dirt that would mar the lemon colour of my school shirt, how my blazer would get soaked and how all the intricate designs I'd ironed into the navy blue flared skirt will clear out and don't even get me started on the gore my poor grey socks and shiny black shoes will go through when a deep voice sounded out of nowhere. "Oh! Look who came late. Love of my fucking life." Love of his what?! What the hell is he saying?

This is very amazing. Like really really amazing. We mostly shy away from this theme your book is all about, a teenager dealing with mental health. I must really commend your efforts. That being said, update soon joor

This is an amazing work of art, the details and some of the characters' experience are totally relatable. If you're looking for a book with romance, and a bit of an insight into the mental health of a Nigerian girl, then this is definitely the book for you.
