The darkness loomed around them like a cloak. Sekhmet carried an old-fashioned torch he pulled from a hole in the wall to light the way. The creature’s twisted form was a blight on the land, born of darkness and rage, yet somehow tethered to the bloodline Saraphina had sworn to protect.

“They’re not ghost stories. They’re warnings.” Grammy gave a single, firm nod. “Shadowcraft is older than the packs, older than even the vampires’ first kings. It’s a magic designed to unmake bonds, to unravel the tether between flesh and spirit. Whoever is using it isn’t just stealing your mates.
