Red dots blinked overhead—cameras everywhere. The room screamed luxury trap: white oak floors shining, cream linen curtains puffing from vents, bed big enough to lose yourself in. My duffel sat open on the rack—empty. Every scrap of my clothes gone. In their place: one sheer black bodysuit on the bed, crotchless, backless, spotlighted like an altar. Cost more than my rent, hid nothing. Note in Damian’s handwriting on cream card: Wear this to lunch. Nothing else. –D

He had begun to look up to him as another father figure since his real father had been in the limelight but not in his life. Justin had had some major migraines lately and thought they were because of the heavy workload they had mixed with some sleepless nights. To make matters worse he had been having crazy nightmares that woke him up. He would get out of bed drenched in a cold sweat feeling like he was missing something. Even worse was that he often threw up in anything he had close by just to ease the pain. Cursing his father, Justin would try and work out, or if that didn’t help, he would work through open cases.

I don't feel like eating, I'm still shaken by what I had just learned. As I went inside my bedroom and tried to turn on the lights it started to flicker and went dark again. "Fuck?" I grunted as I ignored it, tossed my purse on a chair, and went straight to lie down on my bed. As I lay there I could feel the breeze getting so cold that I went under the sheets shivering, the room suddenly felt so dark and cold that I was getting goosebumps. My heart started to race, this is making me nervous for some reason. Suddenly the lights flickered on and I saw someone standing by the door that I left open, and the lights turned off again.

She was proud of it because it was a collaboration of her two favorite numbers. “Nine Fifteen,” I answered very slowly. “Okay, you cannot come down during that time, you understand? You have to remain in your room, promise?” He silently begged, eyes pleading with mine. I nodded and closed my eyes again, too tired to keep them open any longer. I felt warm lips press to my forehead, making my body explode from pleasure, before slowly leaving the room. Finally, I let sleep take over me. -

She scoffs, but her breathing is faster now. “Maybe.” I shrug. “But you don't seem to really mind.” Her eyes narrow. “I'm processing the fact that my asshole neighbor is apparently a creep who sneaks into girls’ rooms.” “Only the ones who read books about guys finger-fucking them until they beg.” She sucks in a breath. Her grip on the book tightens so hard her knuckles go white. “Shut up.” I lean in. “Make me.”

I closed my eyes and hoped, prayed silently that the rest of the night could go without any more nightmare but of course I didn't deserve relief. I dreamt again and again till morning came, this time I couldn't scream. No, they didn't grant me that escape, my demons this time made me relive the worst of my dreams, silent tears trailing down my face with no one there to save me. JAKE After leaving Elena's room, he went straight to his study as he was sure he wouldn't be able to sleep a wink anymore. He had been jerked awake by a piercing scream of agony that he had thought the house was under attack.

— The Gentleman in Black Lena rolled out of the bed, breathless, panting. She couldn't count how many times she'd had that nightmare. The country had 300 million young people with sleeping disorders. Ross' ability to fall asleep quickly would've made insomniacs so envious. Larissa changed her posture and piggy-backed Ross instead. She hailed a cab and checked in at a random hotel. Larissa wasn't sure if she sensed things correctly. But she felt like someone had been watching them this entire time.
